Speed Session Running Meet Up: April 1, 2025

Time: 5:30 pm

 

Safety: Lighting conditions will vary based on time of day, geography and season. When running with poor lighting please be sure to utilize a headlamp or alternate device to help you see and help others see you. Members of the team have had positive experiences using lighted vests & headlamps from Noxgear (https://www.noxgear.com/shop).


Reminders: Bring a container for water (preferably filled with your electrolyte product of choice)

 I will have a container at the beginning of the run with various gels, bars, chews, hydration products etc. Everyone is welcome to grab a sample of something to try.


Track workouts are intended to help you develop good running form and improve your top end & sustained speed.

If you are training with TrueZone Coaching the details of your speed workout will be on your Training Peaks calendar and will sync to your fitness tracker. Please plan on doing your own workout that is unique to you and your training plan.

For everyone else, if you come the to track and don't have a workout of your own I will provide you with an entry level speed workout.


For speed work, my preference is always for you to have good form rather than sacrificing your form to move faster. If you have questions about form let me know either in person or via messenger.


 As a reminder, for all runs I want you to be actively listening to your body. Pace targets and heart rate targets are only intended as guidelines and your body always gives signals if something isn’t going right. You are always better off stopping a run if you suspect something is wrong, missing a few miles of a single run is much better than being sidelined for weeks. All physical activity comes with risk that you accept upon arrival, participation at group events is always voluntary.
